Team good result in yesterday’s match, 41-12 vs Hammarlund.
Our strength and fitness won the game and although the first half was not great, we wore them done, with carry after carry so by the second half they had no energy left.
This was very impressive to see and all about mind-set. We only had one reserve, they had four but in the last quarter we agreed to 13 aside, as 5 opposition players were out. All our players still wanted to play.
This is a great foundation for our team - you all fought for each other, never giving up, despite being behind for the whole of the first half. Even the second try against us showed grit in defence. Their 10 got past our first line of defence but three of you scrambled back to cover our line, only to be wrong footed by exceptional foot work.
We do need to improve our game management, as the first half we put them under considerable pressure and left a number tries un-scored.
Bearing in mind this was our first proper game of the season, it was a solid start.
Well done to Thor for getting man of the match last week and to Hanok for getting man of the match this week. Both weeks it has been a tough decision as there have been so many outstanding performances.

Team great start of off season! We will break for the next 2 weekends and pick up again on the 9th March, meeting in Gubbängen changing room at 11:30 for briefing on the coming season and training, with Martin (attack/backs coach and manager).
During Sportlov weekends the club will have touch games on Saturdays. You will be emailed directly with a Kallelser.
So far I’ve been very impressed with your team attitude and behaviour. Proof of this is we have picked up 4 new players. We still have time to recruit, so let’s target another 4 before the start of the season in May and keep up the welcoming attitude and team spirit.
We have an exciting plan for the season targeting 3x trips within Sweden and 1x trip abroad, probably to Ireland, at the end of the season. We are also targeting at least one training session every other week with the seniors.
Keep up the gym work and fitness. We will have another set of strength and conditioning tests in March. All of you have already improved on the bronco and 40m sprint times but let’s get closer to our targets.

Team, good turn out on Saturday and great to see you all are able to squat lift and bench press your body weight. As a reminder for the those that didn't attend: -Target strength training at least twice a week and start with targeting your body weight in squat lifts and bench press, which most of you have achieved, then increase the weights (sensible and slowly) to target 1.5x your body weight. Do not over do it. Increasing your strength will greatly improve your fitness and resistance to impact injuries, helping protect your shoulder, knees, and backs. In all exercises you must engage you core muscles, as Ned demonstrated: - Always warm up squat lifts with split squats, prisoner squats and 90 second planks, 30kg Goblet Squats and with the bar (no weights). - Squat lift - knees shoulder width apart, do not bend them in or out, descend to 90 degrees (thighs level with knee), pull bar into shoulders to engage core and breath out at top, in going down. - Always warm up bench press with 18x press ups, 3sec down and 3sec up, then bench press first with bar only. - Bench press with hands positioned just outside shoulder and going down slowly, and breathing out as you push up. No bouncing the bar off the chest. I strongly recommend you send your training routines to over to me if you would like Ned to review. Do not overdo it. We will retest in 2 months. The testing is for your personal development and not for competing with each other. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Great turn out last week, very impressed with the numbers attending in dreadful weather - let's keep this up.
The club is paying for a specialist strength and conditioning coach this Saturday so very important everyone attends.
As the weather is bad we will only be having an in door strength test in the changing rooms. You will all be tested and given advice as to what to do to get stronger.
